⚙️ Podio Hybrid Pricing: Usage Add-ons Are Now Available

As announced in July, usage add-ons under Podio’s new hybrid pricing model are now available.

Customers on eligible paid plans can purchase additional API or Workflow Automation capacity when their requirements exceed the usage included in their Podio plan. If your usage remains within the included limits, you do not need an add-on.

What Is Changing?

Podio’s hybrid model combines existing seat-based subscriptions with prepaid add-ons for customers who need additional capacity:

  • API: The existing included API limits remain unchanged. Add-ons are now available to increase hourly capacity for individual API keys on Plus and Premium plans.
  • Workflow Automation: Premium plans include 25,000 automation actions per month. Add-ons are now available for Workflow Automation accounts requiring higher monthly capacity.
  • Billing: Add-ons are prepaid and follow the billing cadence of your existing Podio subscription. There are no automatic overage charges or pay-as-you-go fees.

Most customers are expected to remain within the included limits and will not need an add-on.

What Is Not Changing?

As part of this update:

  • Your existing seat-based plan and seat pricing remain unchanged.
  • Collaboration capabilities and plan features continue to be included with your Podio subscription.
  • The standard included API base limits remain unchanged.
  • The way users are added and managed in your organization is not changing.

Hybrid pricing allows additional usage capacity to be scaled independently without changing how user licensing works.

What Is Available Now?

The organization’s contract owner—the authorized billing contact—can now:

  • Purchase an API or Workflow Automation add-on.
  • Upgrade to a higher add-on tier as usage grows.
  • Cancel an add-on that is no longer required. The add-on will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle.

API add-ons are assigned to the individual API keys that require additional hourly capacity. Workflow Automation add-ons are assigned to the Workflow Automation accounts that require additional monthly actions.

Organization admins and eligible partner users can view purchased add-ons, monitor associated usage, and manage add-on assignments where applicable. API key owners and Workflow Automation account owners may need to coordinate with the organization’s contract owner when additional capacity is required.

For Add-on purchasing and management instructions, see the Add-on Management Guide.

Review Your Usage Before September 1

We understand that some organizations will need time to assess how this change affects their existing operations. The grace period announced on July 1 remains in effect until September 1, 2026.

During the grace period, you can:

  • Review your recent API and Workflow Automation usage.
  • Identify integrations or workflows with higher usage.
  • Optimize usage where possible.
  • Purchase an add-on if you need to continue operating above the included limits.

API key owners can review usage from the API Keys Settings page. Workflow Automation account owners can review automation usage from the Workflow Automation Account Details page.

After September 1, activity above the included or purchased capacity may be limited or fail. This could affect integrations, automations, and related business processes. To avoid disruption, purchase the required Add-on or reduce your usage before the grace period ends.
